Simplify Your Smoothies: 6 Recipes You Can Prep Overnight

Smoothies are a wonderful breakfast option for busy families on the go. Time can be scarce if you have a busy morning schedule where you not only have to get yourself up and ready for the day, but perhaps several kids and a spouse to get out the door as well! Smoothies can take some prep work, but the good news is you can do this ahead of time to cut minutes from your morning smoothie routine!

Use Weekends to Prepare

Spending time on the weekend, before the busy week starts, to prep smoothies can make your weekday mornings go much more smoothly. Enter the smoothie packet: a pre-assembled bag of frozen fruit, vegetables and yogurt you can throw in your blender along with milk or juice.

Ingredients Are Key

Choosing Greek yogurt adds more protein to your smoothie, which will help you feel fuller, longer. You can freeze yogurt ahead of time in ice cube trays to add an extra level of chilly goodness and to give it a nice creamy texture! Frozen Greek yogurt ice cubes are super easy to make, too! The night before you plan to assemble your smoothie packs, scoop Greek yogurt into a sandwich bag, cut off a corner and squeeze the yogurt into an ice cube tray to freeze.

Give these six smoothie bag recipes a try for a delicious, quick breakfast on the go.
