Bread Pudding
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
- 5 eggs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups half-and-half
- 10 cups butter croissants, cut in 1-inch cubes
Sauce
- ½ cup butter
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- ½ cup whipping cream or half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
For the pudding:
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Mix in eggs, salt and half-and-half.
- Add croissants and gently stir.
- Pour into dish; press on croissants to absorb cream mixture.
- Bake for 40 minutes until top is puffed and golden and center is set.
- Let rest for 5 minutes. Serve warm with sauce.
For the sauce:
- Whisk butter, brown sugar and sugar in a heavy medium-size saucepan over medium heat until butter melts.
- Whisk in cream and stir until sugar dissolves and sauce is smooth, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Serve warm sauce over pudding.
- Store unused sauce in refrigerator. To serve, microwave briefly until sauce is pourable.
