Ingredients

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat brown sugar, granulated sugar, water and cinnamon in a small saucepan (~1-2 quarts) over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until sugar has completely dissolved, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Remove from stove top and add vanilla extract.
  3. Cool syrup and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  • Simple syrup can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to one month.
