Milk is one of the most requested, yet least donated items at food banks, a generous donation of milk goes a long way in the community.

On Tuesday, the dairy farm families of Montana donated 2,000 gallons of milk to the Montana Food Bank Network to ensure that their friends and neighbors who don’t normally have access to fresh, nutritious milk have the opportunity to take it home to help feed their families for the holidays.

Travis Frederick on Blocking Out Hunger at Breakfast

Eliminating childhood hunger has been a passion of mine for quite some time. So much so, that I’ve made it the focus of my Blocking Out Hunger Foundation. My eyes were opened wide to childhood hunger after I joined the NFL and had an opportunity to see it up close. I was even more surprised to learn that 1 out of 4 Dallas-area children rely on school meals as their sole source of food. Hunger is one of our greatest opponents. VIDEO: Why Is School Breakfast Important?

If you’re a parent, you know how hard it can be to get a healthy meal together for your kids. Imagine having to do that for 70,000 kids twice a day, every day.

That’s what I do as child nutrition services director at Aldine ISD. It’s tough to meet regulations, work with class schedules and do it all within budget. But it’s also rewarding to see the difference it makes. For instance, the difference breakfast makes to our students is huge.

Here’s a quick video on just how important breakfast is:
